insta - weekend

Hmm how should I sum up this weekend?

I met one of my greatest fears Friday night & now I feel like there's a hole in my heart. I'm a little bit twisted up inside, but I know that everything will work out for the best. For now you will be seeing a lot of me riding solo!

I also spent Saturday with my Mom & little sister shopping and at the Box Elder County Fair, eating as much food as we could handle.

Sunday was relaxing. Catherine & I refer to our basement as the "Saturday basement" because it's always a party down there. But yesterday was a "Sunday basement" where you basically lay on the couch, read, sleep, eat & watch movies (True Grit & Mean Girls). Either way it's a weekend basement, so we're solid.

Ahh what next?

Happy Weekend!

The time is here to celebrate the ever anticipated Halloween! What is everyone doing? We're going to a costume dinner party on Saturday & carving pumpkins. Not exactly sure what I'm dressing up as, it's a hard decision.

Especially when you came out with this home run two years ago:

You've probably seen this before on my blog, but I can't get over it. I look EXACTLY like Dana Carvey.
Which is disturbing on a lot of levels.

What is more disturbing than that, you ask?
I showed this picture to a girl at the Buckle, and her face blanked. "Who are you supposed to be?"

Have a spoooooky weekend!

getting down on the weekend!

Glorious weekend events included:

1.Painting curtains using this tutorial

(her picture-even though mine is the same exact color!)

2.Eating the best roast & mashed potatoes I've ever made from pioneer woman's recipe.
Pioneer Woman's photo....so good!
3.Seeing Tyler after two weeks, and hanging out all day. sigh. It was cute.

4.Sleeping with my electric blanket on high all night.  Have I ever told you how much I LOVE my electric blanket? Pretty sure I pulled it out mid September.

5.Working at the Buckhell. Regretting my decision to work two jobs. Murderous rage!

6.Going to a friend's surprise birthday party ! I was full on sweating waiting for the birthday boy to come downstairs. I love surprises!

7.Remembering I was speaking in church when Catherine picked up the program (luckily it was only 5 minutes)

... and that's about it! Sometimes I go crazy with my camera, sometimes I can't even get it out. You know how it is.

Happy Monday!

Other scenes of my weekend, via le'phone

#1. I spray painted this mirror gold. I can't decide if I love it or not. What is your opinion? silver? pewter? antique gold? white? oi.

#2. just some sketches of what i want to wear this season...

#3. Sunday best (sorry about the hairspray on the mirror!)

# 4 & 5. I learned this IKEA tray is the perfect size for my snacks when I want to sit on my bed & watch netflix. (PS watching Parks & Rec right now... LOVE!)

#6. Sarah entrusted me with little Sasha for a couple hours on Saturday. I set a timer so I could check on him every 10 minutes during his nap. Maybe I had to pick him up a couple times just to hold him too. :)
check out my swaddling skills.. haha

#7. What? how did another witch pic get in there?

#8
NOT PICTURED:
Sunday, Catherine & I loaded up the tables and chairs we had borrowed from the church for the party. Cat asked "should we try to put the tailgate up?" I said, "no, we're not going on the freeway or anything. DUH!"

Within 3 blocks of leaving & one very steep hill, we lost all the chairs & tables (the chairs were on top of the tables, so they just cascaded out). It took a lot of honking and Catherine saying, "We are losing everything!" for me to pull over.

It was so hilarious and only embarrassing at first. Two girls in heels & skirts picking up chairs strewn about the intersection. Classic. Shout out to the sweet couple that helped us, thank you! When they were leaving, the wife said "you guys are not in charge of tables and chairs anymore!"

Point taken. We seriously laughed the whole way to the church. And a little bit in church.

Oh, and today, I realized that my hazard lights have been on ever since the incident. NICE!!!

1-2. my first homemade loaf of white bread. i don't know if you guys realized, but I am obsessed with making bread. It is so fun to me for some reason. and I ate one loaf by myself.

3. My sweet country dancing shirt from the D.I. A true tray-sure.

4. My first pair of sunnies that cost more than $5.00. I really love them. You don't even wanna know the extent of the photo shoot I had with these.

5. Bike ride to the local creamery (aka Coldstone). This is not my bike, but I aspire to have an Electra one day.

6. Being an idiot.

As displayed by these photos, you are very jealous of my fast paced lifestyle.  Other fascinating happenings included cleaning my room, washing my sheets, PUTTING AWAY all the laundry (uuuge!), sweeping and spray painting.

Beat that!

peach days!

this post is a week late, but  magnificent nonetheless.

Oh my gosh I love Peach Days!! For some reason (the fact that PD is awesome) this year, I was counting down the days until I could be with the beloved celebration.

And celebrate I did. I spent the whole weekend @ my parents, so I could just fun around without any worries.

If you are ready for some honest-to-goodness, hootin-tootin good times then you best make yourself a reservation for next year!!

Being a stalwart personage of Brigham City I participated in the following activities:

Fruit stand shopping (with some "tourists" from davis county)
Rides
Carnival food
Peach cobbler
Car Show
Parade
Peach Queen Pageant (which, yes, thanks for noticing I was in the 2004 pageant. As requested, a photo has been posted below.)
Walking around.

I will be sure to make it a annual tradition to stay at Peach Days all
weekend every year. That is a promise to you Brigham!

please understand my humor and know that nobody requested a photo of this.

This weekend was FULL of moving, moving, moving with a baby shower and a drive-in movie somewhere in the mix.

But what you really need to know is that I made my first real loaf of French bread. And it is so good.

friday afternoon delight

1. lime ricky from sonic

2. a special delivery from UPS

i am a huge believer in the goal/rewards system- AKA how i justify my purchases. i was talking to my mom the other night and told her about these boots, and she said "where do you come from? I will do alot for a snickers bar". I replied, "mom, i pretty much deserve a snickers bar just for getting of bed in the morning."
THINK BIGGER PEOPLE.
3. when i drove into work this morning, i noticed a lone pansy flower in the midst of the spring tulips. it reminded me of this story:
brother taylor called brother nathan a pansy(which is a totally outdated insult, but whatever). nathan was visibly upset and ran to tell mom about it. in an attempt to console nate, with her arm around him, she said in very serious tone, "well, pansies are the strongest flower!" sitting in the same room, i chimed in "but, you're still a flower."
happy friday friends!
