CHORE CHART

I found the below cleaning calendar here, and started the process last week. It is working wonders for my house, and freed up most of my weekend. It's kind of funny, but I love my chore chart.

I pinned this to my Pinterest on Friday and by Saturday morning it had been repinned 600 times. What?
So maybe you are looking for a new cleaning regimen too!

You have to let me know if you try it!

SLOWLY BUT SURELY

We are filling these shelves up! I'd like to add something pink/coral to the mix next.

PROJECT DIY CAMPAIGN STYLE TABLES: COMPLETE (ALMOST)

I don't know if  you remember this post, but I finally completed the project(mostly). I checked IKEA daily
like a crazy person until they got the glossy tables in stock, and I drove down the day I got the glorious news that my babes were there!

The tables were easy enough to put together, but the blasted brass corners were a pain in my beeper.

The glaze/shellac made it SO hard to screw in the teeny tiny baby screws. I felt like a big dumb giant trying to tie a delicate bow.

So I still need to put the brass corners on the legs.

I really love the look though, the corners really took it to the next level, if you know what I mean (smooth jazz music playing).

I still need to find some magical treasures, but that's all part of the JOURNEY

Sidenote: If I ever hear the word journey again, I will want to stab eyes out. The Bachelor really ruined that word. "This journey to a helicopter ride & STD's has been so amazing."

(DID YOU) HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Scenes from Christmas Eve.

This whole Christmas felt like one huge gift to me.
I got to:
hang out with my family (+ Tyler)
eat tons of  delicious food
stay in my PJ's for two days
 laugh 'til it hurt
read the story of the Savior's birth
be grateful for my knowledge that Christ lives.

I wrapped this Christmas up and will forever keep it.

*But don't think these are all the pictures I'm posting from Christmas*

Turning house into home

Just a couple details to spruce up the abode.

Can I tell you how excited I am about those knobs?
I'm kind of obsessed with all of Anthropologie's hardware, and my dresser has 10 drawers to feed the hunger. Are you guys opposed to mismatched knobs?

adventures in sewing: keeping it clean

for the past week, this is what my room has looked like.

sorry that i had to gross you out.

in leu of gettin' all creative on my day off, i desperately needed to clean. whilst i was, i realized i never posted pictures of my sewing projects for my room. how sad for you!

after i dilligently tidied up, i took some photos for your viewing pleasure.

this duvet cover was my first major sewing project. it took me a million hours and some cusses. but i love it now, and i dare say it was worth it!

i made these shams. i love the color grey, i think it's the supreme nuetral.

next came the curtains. easiest project and i love all the colors.
(the white has yellow swiss polka dots)

obviously i am not a photographer, sorry this is so dark!

up close action for you. i got this cute lamp @ DI and sprinted across the store when i spotted it. i'm in search for a new lampshade...

ok so these next two aren't sewing, but whatever.

where the magic happens. you know, this blog. i hope you like the edward card on my magnet board. t-boss got it for my birthday thinking it would be hilar. FYI i am a jacob fan. so i was pretty offended.

thrifted clothes that need to be altered, inspiration boards, bookshelf holding lots of random stuff. can you tell i need an accessory intervention?

well i guess that was just the grand tour for you. so lucky!

now i can actually relax in my room instead of have an anxiety attack.

hope you are enjoying this blessed sunshine!

A few things Autumn.

My take on Autumn & Halloween

I love: dressing up, pumpkins, the treats, and the weather.

I HATE: scary movies, skeletons, haunted houses(it gives me indigestion), haunted corn mazes and candy bowls with electrical skeleton hands. What can I say, I'm a regular old ninny!

All of that aside, this is my first year ever decorating for fall, and this is what I've come up with so far in my li'l apartment.

a simple fall garland
My vase collection(from D.I.)... don't love the "welcome" sign, but I do love my roommates:)
...yes I still know that my photography skills are lacking.
I made this wreath for about 8 bucks!

... and finally, my entourage of diva pumpkins! notice the beauty mark on front & center there...

Happy Fall Ya'll

color blocking

Lately I have been obsessing over these color palettes! There is something that feels so fresh & rejuvenating to me about a great turquoise & orange together. Throw in a little (or a lot) of grey & yellow, and I am sold....

I'm pretty sure I about lost my breath over this last one....

What colors are you drawn to?
