divorce therapy

I've noticed that when people that go through a divorce, most seem to go through an "exploration" of sorts.  Some people sleep around with multiple anonymous partners, some drink themselves into oblivion & others just do things that aren't "them" just to see if it takes. I was in the third category. I refer to the "exploration" period after my separation as my divorce therapy.

First I bought a bunch of Sinful brand clothes... I actually owned the shirt in the picture below. What?

Then I drank a lot of these

Next I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning so I could dance the night away at a club.

On top of that I maxed out a credit card... over $5000.00 (oops)

I kept this up for six weeks before my Andrea brain came back. None of these things were me (except for the spending, albeit on a much smaller scale). I'm just not a clubbin' sort of gal. I am not in any way part of the fighting scene that Sinful brand represents. I hate staying up super late - unless it's to watch a movie in my bed, or to finish some crafting or sewing project. Basically I am a grandma.

Pretty much it was a weird but happy time. Luckily I didn't sustain too much lasting damage.. oh except for some credit card debt. And might I say it was worth it!

P.S. I'm not going into all the crappiness or side effects certain forms of "divorce exploration" could have. And I am an advocate of the real therapy (which I also went to).  This is just to poke fun at myself.

  1. Thankfully it didn't last long! I don't many married friends since I am in college but the ones that were and got divorced did soooo much worse than you!

  3. Yes good thing it was short. Band shirts and rock stars are not the andrea I know and love. But I still would have loved you. Haha I love that you can make in of yourself. But I do like grandma Andrea best.
